Jeremiah Fern writes stories and plain-language nonfiction with one aim: taking big, tangled things and opening them up. His debut novel, The Gaze, opens the five-book gaslamp fantasy series The Life and Times of Max Voss. His nonfiction ranges across theology, AI, health, and the craft of selling and sales enablement.

He comes by the teaching honestly. He has spent thirty-four years in technology, starting at sixteen behind the counter of a PC shop. Thirty-two of those years have been in cybersecurity with some of the industry’s best-known firms, in the middle of more than a few stories he’d love to tell — including years carrying a bag in direct sales, and the last sixteen in enablement, teaching complicated things to the people who sell, build, and depend on them. He holds a Master of Arts in Adult Education, and in 2024 became a certified health coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, developing Thrive Simple, a community health class he taught through 2025.

He lives in Texas with his wife and the one of his three children still at home. Those three have given him six grandchildren, two of them still baking.
